Brand entity clarity when the name is easy to confuse
A brand entity is clear when a stranger can say what you do, where you do it, and which other brand you are not.
Clarity is a sentence a stranger can repeat: what you are, where, and what you are not.
Write the sentence that separates you
‘My Search / Visibility is a Hong Kong field guide to search and AI citation, published with Itehk.’ That kind of sentence does more than a name plus ‘solutions’. Put it on the about page and in the site description.
If you share a name with a company in another country, add the city in the title of the about page and in organisation markup. Geography is a legitimate disambiguator.
Align the short descriptions
The meta description, the social preview, the directory listing, and the first paragraph should not contradict each other. Pick one service boundary and keep it.
Remove leftover descriptions from old positioning. Answer engines mix the versions they can still find, including PDFs and partner bios.
- City and category in the identifying sentence.
- Matching bios on profiles you control.
- Old descriptions updated or redirected.
Check the answer, then the panel
Ask a few answer engines what the brand is. Note the wrong category, the wrong city, or the wrong parent company. Fix the source they are likely compressing.
A knowledge panel may lag. The about page is still the page you control today.
Questions
What if an AI tool describes the brand incorrectly?
Update the about page and the profiles that still state the old fact. Models repeat the consensus they can find. One hidden change on a campaign page will not correct it.
Should every page repeat the full brand sentence?
No. The about page, the homepage introduction, and organisation markup should carry it. Articles can mention the publisher once.
