Voice search and local SEO: spoken questions still need a true place
Voice queries are often ‘near me’, ‘open now’, or a spoken Cantonese place name. The answer comes from the profile and the page, not from a voice-search plugin.
Voice local search repeats whatever your hours and address say. Make those sentences short and true.
Write the short answer a speaker would hear
Hours, address, and whether you need an appointment should be short enough to read aloud. Put them high on the location page in plain sentences.
Spoken queries include filler and mixed languages. You do not need to transcribe every filler. You need the facts a voice assistant can lift without guessing.
Keep ‘open now’ true
Voice results that say you are open depend on accurate hours. A stale Friday close on the profile becomes a spoken promise you did not mean to make.
If you are appointment-only, say that in the first screen. An assistant that implies walk-in hours you do not have creates a bad visit.
- Hours and address in short sentences.
- Profile hours kept current.
- Appointment rules stated plainly.
Do not build a separate voice site
A parallel set of spoken-keyword pages will duplicate the location page. Improve the location page and the profile instead.
Test by asking a phone, in English and Cantonese, for the business and for the service nearby. Note which fact it gets wrong, then fix that source.
Questions
Do you need special schema for voice search?
No. Accurate visible hours, address, and LocalBusiness or profile data are the inputs voice answers use.
Should copy be rewritten in full colloquial speech?
Make the key facts easy to say aloud. The rest of the page can stay in clear written language.
